I just wanted to say hi as I have just registered as a member. I started the NC in Dental Nursing in August and will be sitting my exam in November 2008. Absolutely loving the course, although even at this early stage I am terrified about sitting my exam!!

Hello Bubblyanne56. Hope you are well, hmm know what you mean about doing the exam sat my exam many years ago and thankfully passed I was terrified waiting for the practical test was the worst where I sat mine there you went in alphabetical order and my surname is " T" was the last to go in. Where do you study? do you attend an evening course or are you at a hospital it would be useful to know where you study. are you on the GDC register yet Cheers Dentalnurse

Hi Dental Nurse,
I am very well hope thank you, hope you are well.
I am studying at Edinburgh's Telford College, I am taking a one year full time course which means that I am in college three days a week and on work placement two days a week. I am absolutely loving it!! My surname starts with a B, so if it still goes by alphabetical order I should not have to wait too long at least.
I am not on the GDC register yet I thought I had to wait until I had qualified and gained my 24 months chair side experience??
Cheers B

Hi B, Glad to hear that you are enjoying your course!!!, heard that charting has changed in the exam I contacted the NEBDN yesterday to get the guidelines, Were you aware of the changes in the exam? do you know anybody who is going to do the November exam? Have you had a look at Onexamination.com they have a very good online resource for dental nurses studying for the national and NVQ, it will be useful, when your about to go for the exam. They also have a question of the day that we can try, they also have a £5 off their resource if you have DDU number, I phoned them and asked for A Friend who is sitting the NOV exam and had a 1 month account for £10.00 if you have mates going for the Nov exam give tell them to give them a ring for a 1 month account.

Hi DN,
I have been looking at the oneexamination website and it is great! I have been testing myself with the question of the day everytime I go into it. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone who is sitting there exam in November but I will pass the info to my tutor to see if she could let her revision class know. I am definately going to join it when it comes to revision for my exam.........ah what a scary thought.
Hope you are well, take care
B

Hi Sandy, I have not joined one examination yet but it does sound really good. I was going to wait until nearer the time when I will be sitting my exam in November 2008. I do find charting a bit tough as well, it is so different doing it manually than on the computer system in the practice. As DN says practice makes perfect B

I had a look at ontraining above. It does look rather amatuerish. Didn't like the layout or display at all.

I had a look at that website and I am not too sure, but there seems to be a lot of different people on there. Some of the layout is a little different.
